IWPR Rwanda is accepting applications for grants for businesses in the creative industry up until midnight (Kigali time) on February 20.

Launched by IWPR in April 2014, the Rwanda Creative Hub serves as an accelerator for businesses in media, ICT and the arts.

The Creative Hub provides seed funding of up to 20,000 US dollars, office space, and mentorship to foster new ideas in the creative industry. Its mission is to help start-ups grow into thriving businesses with the potential to generate income and employment opportunities in Rwanda.

The hub has already funded 14 start-ups including Legacy45, producing the popular Rise and Shine morning programme for Rwanda TV; H-Magazine, a unique home and interior design monthly magazine; the Home Cartoon Network, producing cartoons in the Kinyarwanda language; and Kigali Virtual Services, a group of doctors providing health information on their website.

Applications should be submitted on the Rwanda Creative Hub website here .

The Rwanda Creative Hub is funded by the Netherlands Embassy and the Swedish Embassy to Rwanda.
