Soviet Massacre in Southeast Afghanistan Remembered

Survivors of a massacre carried out by Soviet troops in Afghanistan 27 years ago are calling for the perpetrators to be held to account.
After the Soviet military besieged and captured a farm complex called Ada in the southeastern province of Nangarhar, about half of the 100 captives they took were taken outside the village and summarily killed. IWPR spoke to survivors, as part of a project looking at accountability for crimes committed during Afghanistan's multiple wars.
