This report assesses the impact of current Russian propaganda on audiences in Kyrgyzstan. It does so at three levels. First, it maps the scope of Russian media outlets in Kyrgyzstan. Second, it analyses the narrative of Russian propaganda and third, it assesses perception of these media and their messaging among audiences across Kyrgyzstan.

The research for this study covers the period 24 February 2022 to 1 December 2022. A research team in Kyrgyzstan began by mapping the major Russian media outlets available in Kyrgyzstan. They subsequently collected, categorised and analysed news items from six Russian TV channels, three newspapers, and one online news agency, and established a content database.
