Focus on HIV/AIDS in Kyrgyzstan

Friday, 9 December, 2011

This radio programme looked at recent AIDS cases, in particular cases where at least 200 children are believe to have been infected via blood transfusions in hospital.

Parents of some of the children mounted a protest outside the government building in Bishkek in November to press officials to do something to help them.

The audio programme, in Russian and Kyrgyz, went out on national radio stations in Kyrgyzstan, as part of IWPR project work funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
