Taleban commander surrenders in Khost
(Arman-e-Milli) A Taleban commander has surrendered to the government in the southern province of Khost, local officials said on June 28. The head of the National Intelligence directorate for Khost, Sadiq Tarakhil, said that Mullah Osmanullah Osman from the Yaqubi district had surrendered and pledged to support the Afghan government. Mullah Osman was alleged to have ties with the Taleban and to have carried out attacks on government and Coalition troops. "His house has been raided several times by the Coalition Forces because of his relationship with the Taleban," said Tarakhil. But Osman denied the charges, insisting he has never been involved in anti-government violence. "My personal opponents have misled US forces just to take revenge," he said.
